What is a destratification fan
A destratification fan is a ventilation device. Suspended from the ceiling of a commercial or industrial building. Two main purposes are to achieve energy savings and provide a comfortable environment for occupants in a building. This is done by circulating air from the ceiling to floor level, as a result this reduces the temperature difference between the highest and lowest points and creating an even temperature distribution.
How do destratification fans work
To combat the problem of thermal stratification (rising heat), KAST have a range of destratification fans that balance temperatures inside your building, by recirculating existing heat and any additional heat generated from people, processes or solar gain.

Destratification – Winter Heating Energy Savings
All large open buildings and warehouses face the same problem, heating staff and customers is expensive. Warm air rises in a process called thermal stratification. With normal air heating, air rises to the roof by convection in high buildings.
For each meter gained in height, the temperature rises by between 1.2° C and 1.6° C, as a result a 10-meter-high building could have a 16° C difference between floor and ceiling, a huge waste of energy and money.
Destratification fans or Industrial Ceiling fans save money by balancing the difference in temperature between ceiling and floor.
