Studies & Outcomes
Data analysis is key to understanding energy consumption and forecasting. KAST has developed in-house analysis tools to generate feasibility reports which have been used in helping Local Authorities win funding for renewable energy products in projects ranging from public buildings to large scale retail developments.
Case Study 1
A large retail town centre development wishing to invest in Solar PV, Battery Storage & Solar EV Charging Car Ports.
Analysis of existing site specific energy consumption with related feasibility report for roof mounted Solar PV and Battery Storage additionally the feasibility of installing Solar PV EV Charging Solar Car Ports.
The feasibility report conclusions clearly demonstrated the energy generation capabilities of Solar PV arrays which could be achieved allowing energy to existing facilities, battery storage for excess generation allowed on demand delivery of night time requirements and EV charging of up to 14 vehicles per day.
The included financial modelling confirmed a return on investment of just over 5 years which allowed funding to be successfully applied for.
For the Local Authority this also represented a carbon saving of 70 Tonnes per year.[spreadsheet?]
